COOLEY April 2019 Wrapup

Writer's picture: COOLEYCOOLEY

April was a very busy month as Senior Appreciation Tour 2019 kicked off with shows in Olympia, Seattle and Redmond. 'Back to PDX Easter Sunday at NW Place then it was off to Eugene, Redding, SFO, Sacramento and many stops in between. 21 days - 18 shows. I’m especially proud that my house concert in Palo Alto garnered just shy of $4000 — all to support ME/CFS research at Stanford University.

In Case you Missed My Social Media Posts for April, here are my favorites.

COOLEY sings "My Girl Stands Out" Mirabella Portland South Waterfront- fun show last month!

With Ed Goldberg, All Classical Portland radio host. What a beautiful studio overlooking the Willamette River. All Classical is my go-to when commuting PDX traffic - an absolute life saver! Thank you Ed and CO.

With Mary at Miramont Pointe in Happy Valley. She is a very devoted music fan - 'never misses a show = )

COOLEY Performing at West Hills Village Senior Residence, one of his favorite venues!

COOLEY sings, "Golden Slumbers". "One of my favorite tunes from way back when."

All roads lead to Music Millennium 'with the Lords of Blackpool

COOLEY Sings, "Mr. Bojangles." This tune is so very popular across the generations. The name COOLEY has become synonymous with high end entertainment making him one of the most sought after, versatile musicians in the Pacific Northwest.

With Gene at the Bedford in Vancouver WA. He always wears a bolo tie which reminds me to play a bit o’ Country & Western. 91 years old and fit as a fiddle! #cooleyshow #throwbackthursday

Splish Splash is one of those tunes that 95% of pop music enthusiasts absolutely love. I don't think Bobby Darin was all that proud of this tune he penned -- but this hit single gave him mega-notoriety like never before. Two years later he won Grammy Song of the Year with "Mack the Knife."

With Janet Clawson (school counselor) and co-eds from Ft. Vancouver Hi School. We supervised a student group at Lewisville Park for a "walk-about" to ID plants and think a bit about how the two-legged impacts the natural world.

These ladies are big music fans — I enjoyed performing for them at Crescent Park Senior Living Mon. night - my 2nd appearance there. Now it’s off to Los Gatos Meadows CA Wed. for 6:30 show at LG Meadows. #cooleyshow #seniorshows #crooner #assistedliving

Stay-over at Mt. Shasta CA, home of the Shasta Bears who made it all the way to the CA State Championship Div. V title basketball game this spring. My wonderful hosts, John and Sue Thelander are pictured here with Mt. Shasta in the background. I’ll be back with them for a house concert May 5th.

Super-fun show last night at Leisure Care Heritage Estates in Livermore CA. I danced with both ladies during the performance. Mary pictured on the right and Norma on the left. Norma said, "you’re the first guy I’ve danced with since I turned 80!"

With Casey Nova in the back - former band mate with the Cool Rays. Now he performs with Lords of Blackpool as does the guy on the left, Kingsman guitarist Todd McPherson.
